As with most computer programs, there are oddities about this well-known and popular Blog program. It really is quite simple once you've been through the process. If you have never used a Wordpress blog which requires registration before, hang in there; we'll do our best to walk you through it with ease and comfort. Here are the 6 quick and easy things to know and do:

1) On your blog screen, you'll notice that you may read any and all posted blog comments without registering. However, you must register (free) to add your own comments or lost pet story.
No personal information required~!
To register, all you need is your chosen user ID or alias and an email address. A password will be emailed to you. That's it.

     To read all blogs without participating, click link 3) above;

Then scroll down below the first or second blog and click on the
("# of" comments) link below the blog. Voila. All the blogs for
      that section open up.

Here's how to register and participate with no personal info:
2)
To register, click the "Lost Pets blog screen" link, and scroll down to lower right corner of blog screen, looking for the Register link.

Click on Register.

On the Register screen, type in your username and email address. (Username can be anything you choose: Your name, initials, or other alias name). Hit "Register". A new almost-identical screen will open asking you to check your email.

3) Check your email for your password. Enter your user name and your password into the Login panes. (Or, if you had to shut your computer down before logging in, navigate to the Lost Pets blog screen -- as described in first line of #2 above -- scroll down, and click on the login link at lower right of that blog screen).

Here's how to navigate to and within the blog screen:
4)
After registering and logging in, when you get to the "Your Profile and Personal Options" screen which has fill-in slots here and there,

you do not have to type in any personal info -- simply click on "view site" at top of page to open blog screen. (you may, however, fill in personal info of your choice, and then click "Update".)

5) Once on the blog screen, you will see comments from other bloggers,  which you may read.
To the right, you'll see "Latest Postings".

Click on one of those postings; then scroll down and you'll see comments left by other bloggers that relate to the top-level posting (the "Latest Posting" which you just clicked). Scroll down to the bottom to add your own comment. Click to submit. If you want to comment in another section, just click another "Latest Posting" and scroll down to add another comment.

6
) When you are done, simply "X" out of the blog.
As a fail-safe measure, our site will stay open for you
so you may continue studying your lost pet system.

Be sure to read Posting caution(s) below.

Once you have completed this process, you'll note it is actually very simple. It's pretty much a matter of click click click and you're in. We enjoy hearing from you, and if you want to get comfortable with blogging your lost pet stories, share with others here and practice your blogging skills at the same time. Feel free to come back and tell others more about your search, or how your pet is doing after being found.

BLOGGING CAUTIONS AND OTHER DETAILS

We currently recommend that you do not click on any "anti-spam pluggin" link at the bottom of your blog comments screen. At least not at this time. These are links within the Blog program which we have no control over, and we have so far found these links lock up our computers, probably due to a code error. We are currently requesting fixes from our web host.

SUGGESTION:
When you register with our blog there is no problem using your own email address for the registration. However, if you want to post your email address for others to see, we suggest using a disposable email address. You can easily get free email addresses from
yahoo.com
and
google.com (gmail)
and elsewhere.

By using a disposable email address, you are more free from the worry of spam, since if you get spammed after publicly posting your address, you can throw the address away and get a new one. If you want to remain on our email address list, just let us know that 1) you want your permanent email address on our email list and 2) you want your disposable email address in your blog (or no email address in your blog). We'll take care of it before approving your comments. Or you may register for our newsletter, or send us feedback to ensure that you remain on our email list.

YOUR OWN LINKS AND EMAILS:
Within your blog comments, you may link to your own related site and
you may enter your email address for public use if you'd like.

Post any such links and emails at your own risk
since these are viewed and usable by the public.

(limited to mix of 3 links or emails).

We do not share your personal registration info with anyone, and we never divulge email addresses. However, if you register and/or post your email address and do not request removal from your blog, your posted address will be available to the public.

Your comments will be read and approved before posting;
all unsavory attempts will not be posted.
